Mental health awareness week is 18-24th May this year and the theme is Kindness. This week Futureworks will be raising awareness of Mental Health.

Research shows that helping others can be beneficial to our own mental health. It can reduce stress, improve our emotional wellbeing and even benefit our physical health.

What do we mean by kindness? Here are some ideas of how you could inject kindness into someone's life.

ACTS OF KINDNESS:

  • Call someone and see how they are
  • Take time out to express gratitude for someone for what they may have done for you
  • Make someone a cup of tea
  • Actively listen to someone when they are speaking to you
  • Give someone a compliment for no reason at all
  • Send something funny to someone to cheer them up or make them laugh
  • Offer someone a safe space to be themselves without judgement
