Hello Everyone,

We have been hard at work planning for your gradual and safe return to the building. The Futureworks Facilities Team have reviewed our operational activities and formed a number of temporary measures to help make Futureworks COVID-Secure. We will be continuing to provide additional notices and guidance as we slowly return to this new normal, so please keep an eye out for further notices via email.

On the 6th of July, we will be reopening our doors to students to book in and make use of our facilities. Online booking for these facilities, as previously communicated, has been open since the 22nd of June, to give the opportunity to book ahead.

Attached you will find a document which will provide key insight into new guidelines for everyone's safety. Below is a quick summary of some of the key points.

  • Face coverings will be mandatory at both sites, at all times. Should you forget to bring a mask you will be provided with one or not be permitted entry. As this is a necessary Health & Safety measure, failure to adhere to this policy has the potential to cause serious harm to another person’s health and thus may result in disciplinary action if ignored.
  • We are continuing to provide heightened levels of cleaning within the building. This includes:
  1. All commonly touched areas, including doors, toilets, lifts, and handrails.
  2. All permanently installed equipment.
  3. All bookable equipment.
  • We will provide additional hygiene stations to enable all building inhabitants to clean their hands and workstations.
  • There will be some changes to the typical building layout and rules. These will be indicated in the following guide documents, emails or through signage around our buildings. Changes include:
  1. Studio and equipment usage
  2. Online booking procedures
  3. Classroom and student lounge layouts
  4. Temporary closure of the LRC and library facilities

By following these guidelines, you will help us to significantly reduce risk and maintain a safe and hygienic facility for everyone inside.

We are prepared for a controlled and safety-focused return to usual business. We recognise that some of the new practices may take some getting used to, and some additional explanation may be required. If you would like any advice or clarification on the points within this or other guidance, please do not hesitate to contact facilities@futureworks.ac.uk

Thank you for your continued co-operation.

We wish you well and hope to see you soon.

The Facilities Team
